Internal Complaint Procedure
Purpose
The Internal Complaint Procedure at GATE Degree College aims to provide a structured process for addressing complaints related to discrimination or harassment within the workplace. The main objectives are to:

- Boost Staff Morale and Productivity: Create a positive atmosphere that promotes staff morale, productivity, and retention.
- Mitigate Legal Risks: Minimize the likelihood of complaints being escalated to external agencies or resulting in legal action.
Making an Internal Complaint
When submitting an internal complaint, please consider the following guidelines to ensure clarity and effectiveness:
- Be Clear and Brief: Present all relevant points concisely to ensure your complaint is understood without unnecessary detail.
- Use Headings and Numbered Lists: Organize your complaint for easy reading by highlighting key issues and using lists where applicable.
- Provide Contact Information: Include your contact telephone number, email address, and physical address to facilitate follow-up communication.
Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)
In compliance with regulations, employers with more than 10 employees are required to establish an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC). The responsibilities of the ICC include:
- Investigating Complaints: Conduct thorough investigations into complaints of sexual harassment and other discrimination issues.
- Resolving Complaints Promptly: Aim to address and resolve complaints as quickly as possible to minimize distress for all parties involved.
- Recommending Actions: Propose appropriate actions to the employer based on the findings of the investigations.
Composition of the Committee
All staff members are eligible to be part of the Internal Complaints Committee. The organizational Chairperson will serve as the Committee Chairman. In the absence of the Chairperson, the Principal will assume the role of Committee Chairman.
